  • Yes, please apply for your NSW Active Kids Voucher and use the code during registration via Rugby Xplorer.

  • The games follow the ARU Modified Rules for U8 to U12 boys and girls so as to progressively develop individual skills and teamwork alongside children’s physical maturity and understanding of the game.

    U8 and U10 play 10 aside and U12 play 15 aside.

U6 are led through skills, development and games most often by NSWRU development staff, held at the carnival days this is a great opportunity for younger siblings of our players to join in on the fun, or as a great intro if you are looking to get your child into rugby.

  • Tamworth Tri Colours boys and girls play in the Sunday ARTC Gala Carnivals/Days hosted throughout the Central North and New England zones. Played during school terms, these carnivals are held on and off on Sundays during the season. All participating clubs host one carnival each.

    U8 and U10 play 10 aside and U12 play 15 aside.

These Sunday carnivals are a bustle of activity with BBQs and the NSWRU development staff in attendance. It is a great family day out!

  • While it is encouraged and preferred that you attend every Gala Carnival/Day, we know life is busy. Your child can play as often or a little as you like. (However, attendance does not effect registration costs)

  • Out of the 11 Gala days, 7 venues are within 1.5 hrs of Tamworth.
We always offer car-pooling for kids that need a lift and we try to organise a bus for the longer trips to Moree and Inverell. Please advise us early if you need assistance to get your child to a Gala Carnival/Day.

  • Of course! You are welcome with open arms. We encourage all parents and guardians to help out. TDJRUC is run by a committee of volunteers that dedicate and donate their time, effort, knowledge, and expertise in a range of fields to assist the club in functioning.

Visit the about us page to see the friendly faces you might know and send us a DM on Facebook, or get in touch via email or phone to register your interest in coaching, managing, or volunteering.

  • The Tri-Colours are committed to fostering the development and enjoyment of the game of rugby union among boys and girls both on and off the field.

We pride ourselves on playing an enjoyable brand of rugby whilst maintaining the highest level of sportsmanship, which in turn helps develop respectful and socially established boys and girls.

  • Registration for junior rugby union is via Rugby Xplorer. Visit the registration page for information and helpful videos on how to register.

If you would like to try rugby before registering, TDJRUC always hold come try days at the start of every calendar year.

2023 come try days are the 22nd March and the 5th of April. Please keep an eye on the website and our Facebook page for further information and times.
